British GP to feature swimming pool and swim-up bar at Silverstone
Silverstone's British Grand Prix will offer a unique hospitality experience with a temporary swimming pool and swim-up bar, aiming to bring Monaco-style glamour to the circuit.
The British Grand Prix will feature a swimming pool and swim-up bar overlooking the track as part of an expanded hospitality village by The Pop-Up Hotel. The temporary setup inside Silverstone grounds aims to bring a touch of Monaco or Miami glamour to the event, with 1992 world champion Nigel Mansell set to stay on-site.
Why it matters:
The addition reflects F1's evolving audience, where lifestyle and entertainment are becoming as important as the racing itself. The sport is attracting a broader demographic, and race weekends are increasingly offering premium, festival-like experiences. This shift mirrors the success of hospitality at races like Monaco and Miami, potentially redefining the traditional grand prix atmosphere.
The details:
- The Pop-Up Hotel, known for luxury accommodations at Glastonbury, first appeared at Silverstone in 2025. Guests last year included Lando Norris, Isack Hadjar, and Jenson Button.
- For 2026, Nigel Mansell will stay at the hotel and participate in live events.
- The cheapest four-night package is £3,799 for two people, while premium suites reach £21,999.
- Rendered images show palm trees and a pool area designed to create a glamorous atmosphere. Founder Mark Sorrill described it as a “signal of glamour” even if the pool itself is not heavily used.
What's next:
The British GP (July 3-5) will test whether such hospitality enhances the fan experience. Sorrill noted that modern F1 fans include both lifestyle enthusiasts and hardcore petrolheads, and the concept is meant to cater to that mix. If well received, similar pop-up villages could expand to other European rounds, further blending racing with luxury entertainment.
