Cadillac edges Aston Martin in Suzuka qualifying amid Perez's struggles

Cadillac secured 19th and 20th on the grid at Suzuka, beating Aston Martin, but driver Sergio Perez revealed ongoing energy deployment issues costing him significant lap time. Teammate Valtteri Bottas noted a slight improvement from a new diffuser but acknowledged the team still lacks overall load compared to rivals.

Cadillac narrowly outqualified the Aston Martin team to lock out the final row of the grid at the Japanese Grand Prix, but the result was overshadowed by significant technical issues plaguing Sergio Perez's car. While Perez managed to beat Fernando Alonso, his session was compromised by recurring energy deployment problems that have hampered his entire weekend in Suzuka.
