F1 and Hasbro Launch Monopoly Grand Prix Edition
Formula 1 teams up with Hasbro to release a Monopoly Grand Prix edition, featuring 24 circuits, team car tokens, and a dual championship win condition. The game launches July 15, 2026.
Formula 1 and Hasbro have unveiled a new Monopoly Grand Prix edition, bringing the sport's 24-race calendar and team rivalries to the classic board game. Instead of houses and hotels, players race around circuits, and the winning conditions mirror the Drivers' and Constructors' Championships.
Why it matters:
This collaboration marks F1's continued push into mainstream consumer products beyond traditional merchandise. By partnering with an iconic brand like Monopoly, the sport aims to attract casual fans and deepen engagement with existing followers, further expanding its global reach.
The details:
- Playing pieces: 11 team cars and driver helmets replace the classic tokens (hat, dog, shoe). Each of the 2026 grid's teams is represented.
- Game board: All 24 tracks from the 2026 F1 calendar are featured as spaces, replacing traditional properties.
- Two ways to win: The fastest player to complete the board wins the Drivers' Championship – the player with the most points at the end wins the Constructors' Championship.
- Chance and Community Chest cards: Replaced with real race scenarios like pit stops and a home-race advantage card.
- Release date: Available in stores from July 15, 2026.
Between the lines:
This isn't F1's first foray into branded games – Mattel's F1 Uno Elite launched in November 2025, featuring driver faces and strategic boosts. The Monopoly tie-up, however, leverages a broader cultural footprint, potentially reaching families and casual gamers who may not follow F1 closely.
What's next:
With both Monopoly and Uno now offering F1 editions, the sport's licensing strategy is clearly targeting game nights. Expect more cross-brand partnerships as F1 continues to build its lifestyle and entertainment presence ahead of the 2026 season.
