Cadillac partners with Dynisma for state-of-the-art F1 simulator
Cadillac F1 team selects Dynisma DMG-360XY simulator to boost technical capability at Indiana hub. The high-fidelity simulator will aid vehicle development, driver prep, and setup work as the new team builds toward its F1 entry.
Cadillac has announced a partnership with Dynisma to supply a top-of-the-range driving simulator for its new Formula 1 team. The DMG-360XY simulator, built by the Bristol-based company that has previously worked with Ferrari and McLaren, will be installed at Cadillac's growing hub in Indiana. This investment underscores the team's commitment to building cutting-edge infrastructure for its F1 campaign.
Why it matters:
For a brand-new team entering F1, a high-fidelity simulator is critical to close the performance gap with established rivals. It enables efficient car development, driver training, and setup work without the costs and constraints of on-track testing. This move signals Cadillac’s serious intent to be competitive from the outset.
The details:
- Dynisma's DMG-360XY features ultra-low latency and high bandwidth for realistic driver-in-the-loop simulation, utilizing the latest LED wall visualization technology.
- The simulator can move up to five meters on both X and Y axes with unlimited yaw travel, replicating complex vehicle dynamics and driver feedback.
- It will serve multiple purposes: vehicle development, driver preparation, and race-by-race setup optimization.
- Cadillac CTO Nick Chester stated: "Dynisma’s technology gives us the level of fidelity, responsiveness and correlation we were looking for as we continue to build our technical capability."
What's next:
With the simulator installation expected soon, Cadillac continues to expand its technical workforce and tools ahead of its F1 debut. This partnership with Dynisma marks another milestone in the team’s preparation, positioning it to leverage simulation for a strong entry.
